COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS and JIL SANDER. At first glance these two might seem like complete opposites, but they are connected by the fact that they’ve both been turning out amazing creations in the field of tailored items. The 2019S/S collection by COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS was called Crazy Suits, and made a fresh wind blow on the runway where the street trends still remain strong by destroying prior ideas about what tailored items should look like. This mesh-patterned top which appeared on First Look is a piece that reflects strongly the ideas of its creator, Rei Kawakubo, going against the current ideas of getting the most sales possible out of an item. On the other end, we have this white suit by JIL SANDER, where even though it’s unsure what season it was made for, it is easy to see the ideas behind this robust brand in the way they select their materials and the cutting of the cloth. The top is quite daring, but as a combination it is quite subtle. By combining items from both brands in this way, you can enjoy a tailored style that is definitely one step ahead from everyone else.
